It's not always possible to know in advance how many of the synth's outputs you'll end up using, but that's OK. When you insert the synth/sampler, un-check the Simple Instrument Track option. It's just not a good fit for people who use multi-timbral virtual instruments. In order to be simple, it has to make some assumptions, e.g. Simple Instrument Tracks are specifically for non-multi-timbral synths and samplers. I'm tired of my projects using more memory than necessary.

I'd really like to use it this way, but I cannot find any instruction manual or tutorial for it. Just the Mute & Solo buttons and another button I guess for monitoring, but no Record Arm button. This makes sense to me, but the channels did not have record arm buttons on them. When I chose the Stereo configuration it loaded 16. It loaded 32 channels as Miroslav (or Garritan). The other day I tried using the MONO configuration with Miroslav Philharmonik and Garritan Jazz & Big Band 3 with the setup on multiple channels with just one instance of the instrument (I don't remember how it's worded and I'm not at my DAW now, but you know what I mean). Up to now, I've been loading them as "Simple Instrument Tracks" and if I want to use say, 4 horns, that takes up lots of memory. I would like some help configuring VST instruments so that I can use just one instance of a player but with multiple tracks.
